The Father Paulos and the Father Nilo take care of the bees' colony of the Esfigmenon Monastery. The convent owns 50 of such beehives which yield a yearly average production of 1,5 tons of honey. When the monks do not practice the pray they are to work as their survival relies on the products they produce. These products are the only income for the monastery's commune.
