The Father Spiridon is washing his clothes in the open area of the kitchen. Is the only place where somebody can find hot water. As there is no electricity, the only boiler is powered by the combustion of wood, and it is located in one side of the kitchen where hot water is most required. It is known that the monks do not wash themselves; they just change their clothes.

Le père Spiridon lave ses vêtements dans l'arrière cuisine. C'est le seul endroit ou l'on peut trouver de l'eau chaude. Comme il n'y a pas d' éléctricité, la seule chaudière est alimentée par la combustion du bois. Celle-ci est donc placée dans la cuisine, là où l'eau chaude est le plus nécéssaire. Les moines en effet ne se lavent pas, ils changent juste de vêtements.
